Mission: Train Employees Through Video
A respected, well-known financial and accounting firm needed a partner to design, integrate and support video communication systems for its new $300 million training facility in Texas. AVI-SPL worked with site planners to ensure the technology supported the goal of using technology to enhance, not replace, face-to-face communication.
Action: Give a Corporate Campus the High-Tech Treatment
For this project, AVI-SPL provided video conferencing, a digital media network, interactive classroom technology and presentation systems for the 712,000-square-foot campus. The project includes 36 team rooms, a 176-seat amphitheater, a 20,000-square-foot ballroom, and 12,000-square-foot fitness center, all featuring audio and video systems that engage and inform. Our team also addressed 35 classrooms, four of which are equipped with Polycom video conferencing to connect three sites at once.
Digital media and signage are in lobby spaces throughout the campus. Visitors to the campus are greeted by a 20-foot-wide interactive digital media display in the main lobby. This “Connections Wall” is a multi-touch multi-user video wall featuring streaming video, information on worldwide offices, social media connections with guests and visiting employees, and an interactive corporate history tree. The media wall here comprises 24 NEC X462UN (46-inch) monitors configured in a 4X6 layout, and affixed on Chief mounts.
AVI-SPL also built and manages the dedicated Video Network Operations Center (VNOC) that ensures connectivity for video conferencing. We are an integral part of the training facility today through our team of eight full-time, onsite personnel. The team provides video conferencing training for instructors, and maintains the VNOC, collaboration systems and campus network.
Impact: Empowering Students and Educators With Video
Video collaboration technology has empowered instructors to broaden the scope of their curricula through distance learning. Using the Crestron control systems throughout the classrooms, instructors can manage the equipment and quickly contact the AVI-SPL onsite team whenever they need technical support.
Through the digital media walls, the financial institution makes a positive impression on visitors while keeping instructors and students informed.
