Our DEI strategy

We believe a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategy starts with creating a truly inclusive environment and grows by encouraging our employees to share their ideas and live by their ideals.

Building connections

At AVI-SPL we foster diversity, equity, and inclusion by living our core values to build connections, do the right thing, and ensure everyone can thrive and grow. We believe every member of our team has a uniquely valuable perspective. We celebrate our differences and we encourage our employees to bring their authentic selves to work.

We’ve cultivated both a top-down and grassroots approach to progress our culture and drive sustainable positive impact. By inviting everyone to the conversation and sharing diverse ideas, we unlock creativity and innovation that gives us all a powerful sense of purpose while delivering great value for our customers and partners.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Pledge

Connection is at the heart of everything we do – connection to our people, our customers, and the communities we live in and serve across the globe.

Our commitment to diversity is simple: we provide connection, opportunity, and a voice to everyone, from every background.

WE Thrive Together:

WE appreciate the visible and invisible qualities that make you who you are. Our diversity makes us better humans and better employees and makes AVI-SPL a better business.
WE celebrate that every person brings a unique perspective and experience to advance the AVI-SPL mission – to transform how people and technology connect to elevate experiences, create new value, and enable organizations to thrive and grow.
WE believe that each and every employee must have an equal voice and equal access to opportunity and connection.
WE commit to include diversity, equity, belonging, and inclusion practices at the center of our daily work.
WE are dedicated to using these practices for our business and the communities we serve.

Our Employee Resource Groups

In 2021, we formed our first Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). With these groups, organized by employees for employees, we foster a sense of community, provide a safe space for dialogue, and recommend ways AVI-SPL can better support its employees, culture, and communities.

AVI-SPL currently has five Employee Resource Groups co-chaired by employees from across our company. The groups often collaborate, recognizing the intersectionality of their community, and include:

ERG Badge Open
ERG Badge Culture Coalition
Elevate
ERG Badge Able
ERG Badge Veterans

Our DEI goals

As we strive for greater diversity, equity, and inclusion, we’re driving toward these goals and working together to achieve them.
  • Enhance employee experience: cultivate an inclusive workplace through internal awareness building, training and mentorship, and community involvement. Employee Resource Groups give all employees a voice to share their aspirations and address issues. Our employee feedback platform empowers employees to anonymously send feedback or speak up about workplace issues directly to leadership.
  • Attract diverse candidates: partner with diverse recruiting sources and ensure inclusive hiring practices to attract and hire candidates of all genders, ethnicities, and backgrounds. We tap into a wide range of organizations and institutions to broaden our reach. We develop interview guidelines to help our recruiters and hiring managers be inclusive and avoid bias in pursuit of hiring the best candidates.
  • Build a diverse talent pool and develop diverse leaders: ensure of pipeline of future talent and leaders by offering internship and mentorship programs today. We offer people of all backgrounds opportunities to learn about the technology and services we deliver through paid internship programs. We also offer current employees leadership coaching and mentoring, focusing on diverse talent and pairing each employee with an experienced company leader.
