About CBRE

With more than 115,000 experts in over 100 countries, CBRE is the world’s leading real estate services and investment company. Its mission is to create real estate solutions of the future and increase the potential of its clients, experts, and partners. CBRE designs customized spaces that match the visions, brands, and corporate culture of its clients.

Project Objective

For this project, CBRE was both a consultant and a client in deploying its new, innovative work environment in Berlin – BEAM, the new CBRE office in the German capital. CBRE believed the best way to elevate team engagement was to move three of its four Berlin offices into the historic Berlin Mitte building – a 4,200 m2 space. The real estate company envisioned creating a future-driven work environment with maximum employee flexibility. With intuitive and easy-to-use technology and various work methods, the space would feature a large multi-purpose space, two large conference rooms, individual offices, two huddle rooms, three open collaboration areas, and the Rise Café.

CONCEPT

Maximum flexibility was essential in the new space to ensure employees had areas that best suited their work styles. Instead of permanently installed screens, AVI-SPL recommended flexible Neat Boards to make collaboration technology available to all.

IMPLEMENTATION

CBRE’s Workplace Consulting team designed its modern work environments while AVI-SPL developed the collaboration technology solutions. The AVI-SPL-CBRE partnership began at an early stage. Project teams met weekly to define the ideal collaboration technology for each space, ensuring optimal daily employee support. The early partnership meant design and technology could coordinate seamlessly.

The Rise Café

Challenge

Sliding doors separate and connect the Rise Cafè and the large “Experience Room” meeting space. The combined space requires a vast technology set – but with little space for it. AVI-SPL worked closely with CBRE designers and carpenters to install a solution with sufficient ventilation and select equipment that generates minimal heat.

Result

A state-of-the-art work environment that impresses – in every respect. Employees can feel the unique atmosphere, attention to detail, creativity, and The Rise Café quickly and easily becomes an event space when the screen is lowered.

Four wireless handheld microphones, four wireless headsets from Shure, and 12 ceiling speakers ensure that presenters are heard clearly throughout the entire space. professionalism in design and implementation as soon as they enter the office. The integrated technology pairs well with the modern aesthetics of the space. Neatboards blend in perfectly with the surroundings.

The Epson projector extends down if needed or disappears into the ceiling. Microphones, room booking systems, and collaboration technology are also easy to use. Employees have embraced the concept throughout the various rooms. BEAM features open collaboration spaces, focus and huddle rooms, and the open, inviting space of the Rise Café with its different seating arrangements
